Damage to Caldwell Crossings Sign

 BEFORE
 AFTER

We received a call from a homeowner about 4:15 asking if we knew about the damage to the island sign at Crossings Drive.

The sign has sustained significant damage from being hit by a truck or large SUV as there are tire tracks leading up to the sign. The "Caldwell Crossings" part of the sign is split on both sides and the base has also been badly damaged.

If anyone saw the incident, please contact any member of the Board of Directors or email communications@caldwellcrossings.org. Include when did you first notice the damage. In addition keep your eyes open to see if you notice any trucks/SUV with notable damage to the front end.

The damage could have also resulted from a trailer hitch in which case the vehicle may not be severely damaged.

for the Board of Directors

The Sanctuary Club 2011 Budget

The diligent stewardship of our Directors enabled us to maintain the current annual dues at ten dollars per household. The $10 dues have stayed the same since the Club’s inception in 2007.

Approximately 98% of all households were Sanctuary Club members in 2010.

All Club member households continue to receive annually one updated Sanctuary Telephone Directory without charge. A new updated directory is anticipated in April, 2011.

Non-member households pay five dollars for their directory.

We anticipate another great Spring Ice Cream Social and a late-spring or early-summer BBQ for all Sanctuary residents. The actual dates are scheduled to be announced in March. Last year both events were well attended and gave everyone an opportunity to meet their new neighbors.

Please send your $10 check this week to renew or start your membership to The Sanctuary Club, Inc. Please do not send cash. Thank you for making our community a better place to live.

Checks should be sent to Judy Murchison at 5181 Crossings Parkway, Hoover, Alabama, 35242

January 10, 2011 ~ Winter comes to the Sanctuary

Grandchildren of Buzz & Carol Williams enjoy the excitement of a sleigh-ride down a snow-covered bank into the nature area. Madison, William, and Joey Crain find time for winter sport during a weather-break from Helena public school.

Neighbor-to-Neighbor

On Thursday a Crossings Ridge resident parked his unlocked car in the garage and went into the house. Hearing a motor running in the front he looked out just in time to see a man running from his garage and jump in the truck. He grabbed his camera and took pictures as the car went down the hill. Then he jumped in his car and attempted to chase it until the driver began to drive erratically.

The thief had taken his laptop, cellphone, and IPad.

The policeman who came said he would fax the pictures to headquarters, then told him he should always close his garage and lock his car doors. Duh! The resident was underwhelmed by the policeman's reaction to the situation.

Again, please, dear neighbors, use your common sense for your security and safety.
