Please help....two lost dogs

Mr. & Mrs. Thornton at 5140 Crossings Parkway, phone 980-0971, asked if anyone finds their lost dogs then please contact them. One is a yellow Lab and the other one is a tanish small Labadoodle. They slipped out this morning and so far they haven't been able to find them.

Is her collar missing?

Her collar was found in my back yard, 5436 Crossings Lake Circle on 2/14/2011 and may be retrieved.

I saw a small black cat without a collar in my back yard a few weeks ago which may have been Allie. She entered my back yard by climbing the fence and left the same way, headed south.

The four-day count typically records more than 10 million observations.

The count can require as little as 15 minutes on one day. (The Huntsville Times file)This weekend, you can be a part of the annual Great Back­yard Bird Count, a collaborative effort to take a census of birdlife across the U.S. and Canada.

Between Friday and Monday , everyone from ornithologists to backyard birders is being en­listed to create an instantaneous snapshot of our feathered neighbors. Interest is high this year in the wake of several re­ports in scattered locales of large numbers of birds dying in mysterious circumstances.

Anyone is invited to take at least 15 minutes on any day dur­ing the survey to tally birds pres­ent in yards, parks or forests and to enter the results at www.bird­count. org.

Field guides and lists of spe­cies you're likely to see in your locale are available at the site.

After submitting your results, you can watch the count grow as fellow birders submit their re­ports. Coordinated by the Cor­nell Lab of Ornithology, the Na­tional Audubon Society and Bird Studies Canada, the four-day count typically records more than 10 million observations.

Alas...an early Spring

Damage to Caldwell Crossings Sign

We received a call from a homeowner about 4:15 asking if we knew about the damage to the island sign at Crossings Drive.

The sign has sustained significant damage from being hit by a truck or large SUV as there are tire tracks leading up to the sign. The "Caldwell Crossings" part of the sign is split on both sides and the base has also been badly damaged.

If anyone saw the incident, please contact any member of the Board of Directors or email communications@caldwellcrossings.org. Include when did you first notice the damage. In addition keep your eyes open to see if you notice any trucks/SUV with notable damage to the front end.

The damage could have also resulted from a trailer hitch in which case the vehicle may not be severely damaged.
