Neighbor to Neighbor

This just came from a cousin in Texas.
Charles Ray Nix

I received a call a few minutes ago from 786-358-6691 asking to verify my name then telling me that they represented the SS Administration and would be sending new Medicare cards to all holders. He ask if he had my address correct (which he did).  I then ask why I would be getting a new Medicare card and he told me it was because of the new Medicare laws and for people to receive benefits from Medicare they would have to have the new card.  By this time I had figured out it was a scam so my reply to him was "why would I be getting a Medicare card when I don't have one now".  He immediately hung up.  In checking the number on the Internet it says it is a scam number that "tricks" your caller ID into recording another number.  The name showing up on my caller ID was "PROMTN MTR WCA".  I think this is something people need to be aware of as many older people are so gullible and will give info to unknowns.  Also, in checking on line, people who have let the call go further have been ask for their bank info and routing numbers.  When questioned about that the caller hangs up.  The male caller had an accent, possibly East Indian.

I called the police department and they told me I should call the TV stations so that others could be notified.
